I got my hands on two Moonman A1s for about $20 each. They don’t feel cheap at all in hand. The brass barrel feels solid and adds a lot of weight to its body. The air-seal is also great. No hard start after a night when the pen is filled with Noodler’s Zhivago, which tends to dry on the nib in a Lamy safari.

Nov 17, 2021 · I ordered a copy of this Majohn A1 specifically to have a capless nib unit to grind. I did a quick dip test and, like most Chinese pens, it wrote way too fine for me. (Marked EF on the nib unit.) After I ground the nib the pen was so dry that it wouldn't write. This might've been the result of my grinding, I'm not sure.
